Parking During Construction

Visitor parking is only available on Saturday and Sunday during construction of the Garden Gateway.

The Duke Gardens visitor parking lots are closed until spring 2026 for construction of the Garden Gateway project. Public parking is available to visitors on weekends only in the nearby Duke University H lot, located on Anderson Street and Yearby Avenue. There is no public parking on weekdays. Visitors are strongly encouraged to visit Duke Gardens on the weekend when public parking is available or use alternative means of transportation.

The Duke University H lot is located near the Gardens temporary pedestrian entrance at 2000 Lewis St. Because it is used by Duke University and Duke Health staff members during the week, it is only available to Duke Gardens visitors on the weekend.

Duke University Parking & Transportation charges $2/hour for parking at the H lot from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Please note that the only payment option for this lot is the Duke’s Blue Spot parking website accessed on personal phone devices. There is not an on-site option for credit card and cash payment.

No Weekday Parking

There is no on-site visitor parking at Duke Gardens during construction, and parking is available on weekends only in nearby campus lots. On weekdays, we encourage biking, walking, using rideshare options or traveling by bus to visit.

H Lot Location

The Duke University H Lot is located on Anderson Street and Yearby Avenue, one block north of the Gardens main entrance at 420 Anderson Street (currently closed for construction) and adjacent to the temporary pedestrian entrance at 2000 Lewis Street.

Visitors may enter the H Lot on weekends only through the raised gates on Anderson Street as well as on Yearby Avenue. Duke’s Blue Spot parking website is the only way to pay for the parking fees. You may enter the Gardens directly through the pedestrian gate at the bottom of Lewis Street.

How to Pay for Parking

The only way to pay for parking is to use Duke’s Blue Spot parking website on personal phone devices. STEP 3

Fill out all required fields and click “Redeem Parking” then “Confirm.” You will need to provide your license plate number.

STEP 4

This will complete the transaction. The final screen confirms your parking session and shows when the session expires. You may add more time from this page. You will also receive an order confirmation by email.
