Connecting with people in the Gardens is a beautiful way to spend the day. Here are some things to know if you plan to picnic or organize a group gathering at Duke Gardens.
- Many types of group gatherings at Duke Gardens have specific registration processes. Find out if your group should register in advance.
- The maximum group size in the garden is 25. If your group is larger than that, we ask that you split up into smaller groups of 25 or less.
- You may bring your own food and non-alcoholic beverages into the Gardens. Catering and delivery are not allowed.
- Cooking and alcohol are not permitted.
- Sports and recreational equipment, including balls, frisbees and balloons, is prohibited.
- If your group plans to sit together, please find a mowed grass lawn with enough space to accommodate your group. There are many lovely large lawns at Duke Gardens, including the South Lawn and the Event Lawn.
- Please do not block access to paths for other visitors.
- Guests may not hold weddings or other ceremonies and events without advance space rental. Visit our Special Events page for more information about booking events.
