Coordinator of Volunteer and Visitor Services: This full-time coordinator ensures that we provide outstanding experiences and engaging interaction for Duke Gardens visitors. The person in this position strives to develop awareness and skill among staff and volunteers to increase visitor engagement, build appreciation for the value of great service and understand the methods of evaluating success. The successful candidate possesses reliable and effective front line service skills and the ability to train others in identifying and delivering service to visitors.
This position also works with all Duke Gardens staff to identify where volunteer contributions will help us meet goals and enhance Duke Gardens' display and programs. This position is responsible for recruitment, retention, evaluation, recognition and placement of volunteers. The ideal candidate will be innovative, with a proven ability to delegate and motivate a group of diverse individuals using a hands-on, flexible and open approach. Must be available to work evenings or weekends as needed. Previous volunteer coordination/visitor services experience in public gardens or museums preferred.
