Blooming with Books

Join Duke Gardens, Durham’s Partnership for Children, and other community partners in Duke Gardens for a reading celebration. We'll have activities for all ages, including:

  • Free children's books
  • Family storytime
  • Book swap
  • Zine making
  • Library resources
  • Study spot suggestions
  • Journaling

Additional community partners include Toxic Free, Liberation’s Station pop-up bookstore, Duke Identity & Diversity lab, Communities in Schools of Durham, Durham Literacy Center, Durham County Library and more.

Bring a blanket and a picnic and spend the day reading together and exploring the garden.

This free drop-in celebration will be outside in Duke Gardens. It will be canceled in the event of rain or other inclement weather. Click here for directions of how to get here

Parking can be limited on Duke's campus; please consider carpooling, taking the bus, or using other transportation methods (more info). Parking is available in the lots at Duke Gardens and the Campus Drive lot ($2 per hour; more info) as well as the "H Lot" (free).
