Naturalist Class: Light (for ages 5-6)

Mon, September 11, 2017, 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM

Where does light come from? What is it made of? What does it do? We’ll look at sources and properties of light, as well as how it’s important for life on Earth, especially plants.

Join other homeschool students at Duke Gardens in a small group setting with classes designed to maximize exploration in nature. Discover diverse living things and the ways they interact with the environments that sustain them. Investigate with all senses, play games, experiment, create through crafts and more! Each class focuses on a different interdisciplinary topic.

Please note: We also offer a longer class for children ages 7-9. Read about it here. Please also ask about our younger sibling policy.

Location: Meet at the Doris Duke Center.

Fee: Gardens members $7 per class; general public $10 per class. Register for 5 or more classes at a fee of $6/$9. Parking fees apply.

Information/registration: 919-668-1707 or gardenseducation@duke.edu.
