Cooking from the Garden: Spring Pestos from the Garden
Time to feast upon spring and summer vegetables! Join us for one class, or the entire series with instructor Katie Coleman, chef and owner of Durham Spirits Company. Each class includes in-class tastings. Prepare for a treat and learn about a variety of garden-fresh pestos to celebrate the taste of spring. Katie will demonstrate the basics of a pesto and then we all will help make a variety to taste and to take home.
No experience necessary. Bring containers for pesto to take home!
Menu: Grilled Lamb Skewers with Mint Feta Pesto; Crostini and Ricotta with Spring Greens Pesto; Pasta with Avocado Spinach Pesto; Grilled Shrimp with Asian Pesto
Location: Doris Duke Center.
Fee per session: Gardens members $28; general public $35. Fee to register for all three: $22/$30.
Per session participant limit: 12.
